EdgeTX radio tools on your Android phone
Plug your EdgeTX radio into an Android phone with a USB OTG cable, choose USB Storage on the radio, and FlySpark opens its SD card. Edit models, back up the whole card, manage Lua scripts, or start the radio in its bootloader to flash new EdgeTX firmware.
These tools use USB, so they live in the Android app. Try the sample radio in your browser first.
This tool runs in the FlySpark app on Android. The demo works in your browser.
Features
Model editor
Setup, inputs, mixes, outputs, logical switches, special functions and telemetry, saved to the SD card when you choose.
Backup and restore
Copy the radio's SD card contents to your phone and restore them later.
Lua scripts
See the tools, widgets, telemetry and mixer scripts on the card, read their source, import and remove them.
Firmware
Flash EdgeTX firmware over USB DFU from the radio's bootloader.
Sample radio
A demo SD card with models and mixes, to try every screen without a radio.
EdgeTX Companion, on a phone
EdgeTX Companion is the official desktop tool for Windows, macOS and Linux, and it is excellent for building models at a desk and simulating them. There is no Companion for Android. FlySpark fills that gap for the jobs you need at the field or away from your computer: tweak a mix, fix a switch, back up the card before a firmware update.
Models are read and written in EdgeTX's own YAML files on the SD card, so the radio and Companion still see the same models afterwards.
What you need
An Android phone with USB OTG support and a cable that fits your radio. On the radio, choose USB Storage (SD card) when you plug it in. For firmware, start the radio in its bootloader. The iPhone cannot reach USB storage devices from apps in this way, so these tools are not in the iPhone app.
Always back up the SD card before changing firmware or models.
How to back up an EdgeTX radio with an Android phone
- Install the app. Install FlySpark from Google Play.
- Plug in the radio. Connect the radio with a USB OTG cable and choose USB Storage on the radio's screen.
- Open EdgeTX. Open EdgeTX radio in FlySpark and allow access to the SD card.
- Back up. Open the backup tab and save a copy of the card to your phone.
Frequently asked questions
Is there EdgeTX Companion for Android?
Not officially. FlySpark's Android app covers model editing, SD card backup and restore, Lua scripts and firmware flashing over USB.
Does it work on iPhone?
No. The EdgeTX tools need USB access that the iPhone does not give apps. The browser demo works on any device.
Which radios are supported?
Radios running EdgeTX that offer USB Storage mode, such as models from RadioMaster, Jumper and others.
Can I edit models without a radio?
You can explore the sample SD card in the demo. Real edits need the radio connected.
